Fabric Craft

While I am know for making cards and scrapbook layouts and taking photos, my formal tertiary education was in fashion and textiles design.

I did work in the industry for a few years before and after I graduated but over all I found the industry difficult to be in. To say it is a cut throat industry to work in would be a massive understatement. I can however accept that this is just my view point based on my experience in the industry. My experience was mostly as a sewer either by sewing machine or by hand.

Although I have a deep dislike for the industry in general I still do love designing and making garments, especially of a an alternative flavor.

In 2015 I was asked to make a waistcoat for my brother for a wedding he was attending. I tend to like making custom fits which raised a few logistical issues as I live in South Australia and he is in Western Australia.

A mock up of the requested garment was sent off and adjusted and then returned to me. And in a couple days the finished garment was posted back, JUST in time for the wedding.

Fast forward to mid January 2017 and I get another request.
